This was a rare opportunity to study one-on-one with Bettina Essaka

and Stefan Poetzsch.

Bettina and Stefan served on the faculty of the California State University

Summer Arts' "Composer-Performer Collaboration: A Workshop for Composers"

June 29 - July 9, 2011 on the campus of CSU-Fresno, in Fresno, California.

On the July 3, Bettina Essaka presented her current production

"Cicadas Whispering" with composer/musician Stefan Poetzsch

demonstrating ways connecting movement and sound in

contemporary performance.
